Downtown Mio is a great place to shop

Downtown Mio is also home to the AuSable River Outfitters, which opened in August. This store sells fishing and hunting equipment, along with children’s toys and kayaks. However, the store does not sell guns. It will hold a grand opening celebration in April 2017.

Union Corners is an abandoned “town”

Union Corners is an abandoned “town” on the Valley Road in Mio, Michigan. It has been abandoned for over a century. The town was a small farming community that was abandoned because of poor soil. The ruins of the town are scattered around the area. There are also several grave sites from the era.

The Michigan Shore to Shore Riding & Hiking Trail

A 220-mile trail connects two Michigan cities: Empire on Lake Michigan and Oscoda on Lake Huron. You can hike or ride a horse along this scenic trail. However, you cannot bring bicycles on the trail. Bicycles, motorcycles, and other motorized vehicles are not permitted.

The Michigan Shore to Shore Riding & Walking Trail connects the two largest lakes in Michigan. The trails wind through forests and rivers as they traverse 220 miles along the shores of Lake Michigan. This trail is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, whether you want to ride a horse, hike, or cross-country ski.

The Sloan Museum

Located within Flint’s Cultural Center, The Sloan Museum is a public museum that specializes in the history of Flint and the surrounding area. Visitors will be able to learn about the local auto industry and the history of Genesee County. It is free to visit and includes a variety of exhibits.

The Sloan Museum features regional history, hands-on science and historic automobiles. There are also many traveling exhibits and family play areas. Admission to the museum is free for residents of Genesee County. The museum’s car collection is home to over 30 historic vehicles. The Museum also features a fleet of over one hundred Flint-built carriages.

The Sloan Museum is currently undergoing a $30 million expansion and renovation project. Tickets can be purchased online or at the museum. Discounts are also available for senior citizens and children. To support the project, the Sloan Museum accepts private donations. It is located within the Flint Cultural Center.
